I read recently on a US based board of a tip for handling "storm windows" or what we would call detachable secondary glazing panels. The poster recommended using those sucker handles that you see glaziers using, and I thought hmmm, good idea that.
I should have done something about it when it was fresh in my head, because yesterday I was struggling to get to grips - literally - with a BIG panel. Came out easily enough, but trying to get it back into the top track was a real sod.
