Title: Pressure washer pressure!
Post by: Steve Grocott on February 29, 2020, 11:51:20 pm
Hey everyone, I have a recently got a  Honda GX390  outfit with a Mazzoni pump. I can reduce pressure at the lance by throttling down the engine or by turning down the control on the pump. I’ve got a decking cleaning job coming up and I know this needs a lower pressure.  What is the best way to lower the pressure at the lance? I’m operating out of a wheelie bin and the pump has 2 bypass hoses connected to the wheelie bin. Any advice would be appreciated!

I always adjust the pressure at the unloader valve.

Use a bigger jet  on the lance, decking does not need lower pressure, just a more careful approach.

Even use the same jet but keep your distance from the wood

Thanks Mike, I only have a turbo lance and a vario lance so I’ll set my vario to wide.  Fsc no good?

Yes just set it to wide and do multiple passes rather that try and clean it in one go, I find it when you stop that you get a problem, just start at one end and clean the full length.

A FSC is harder to clean evenly with you tend to get circles as you stop & start but be careful and it can be done
