either way, whichever method was used the bottom picture shows an operative who wasn't doing his job properly!

It could be traditional who couldn't be bothered to wipe the sill or it could be WFP with the same thought.

we don't clean the sills either - never been asked to. Don't know of any other wcs here that do either.

Personally I always clean the sills, and the frames too!

As has been said, either could be applied to both trad or WFP, it's all down to the operator.

I used to wipe the sills down when i was trad but now im WFP i dont bother...
Ground floor windows i give it a quick brush over..

On your existing accounts you know the sills are clean as you always do them, so when you are WFP you can feel safe in just angling your brush slightly so that the edges of the bristles brush the sill.
This is almost always enough to clean them, and don't forget that their is a continuous flow of water rinsing them at the same time.

On new work, unless you buy a specific sill brush, you try to ensure the angle is sufficient to be able to wash the sill.
I've managed to clean sills that are green with algae without a problem (upstairs)

Cos I've got eyes!

And you can see the edges of the sill, plus if the customer has asked if you can get them clean and then thanks you for doing a good job, its fair to assume you've done it properly!
Some of my customers are fussy about their sills, and I've so far managed to keep them sweet.

Over the years i have picked up alot of jobs because previous wc,s never wiped sills i cant beleive that people dont do this ! it takes seconds and makes the job look complete, when i clean a window its everything that gets done and i would say that 99% of my customers would soon be on my case if i was only doing half a job $:-\$

This is a good topic, because of the pictures at the begining = proof
Some have already answered incorrectly, which adds to the proof.
To be sure that 1st floor sills and above are clean, without getting sight of them is tricky.
How do you guarantee something that you can't see the results of?
There is only one way, (or two), you say, "I'll get them clean or I'll come back", or you say, "If they're not clean, I'll come back".

Either way, you better make them clean, that's your job you lazy cleaner you!

Bear in mind that I can't think of any customers of mine who have plastic sills - they're not popular here, not in my area anyway.

Easy - two options:-

1. Pay £5000 and buy the new Ikronik Reflecto-100 with a CCTV camera on the top of the Pole.

2. Ask Matt or Gaz who will provide a mirror attachment for a tenner!

Use a sill brush i changed over to a sill brush about a month ago it takes a bit of getting used to but now im happier knowing i can get the sills better.

I always clean the sills & frames & get rid of the spiders!
The job always looks better & it's less work next time you go back-in some cases customers have offered to pay extra for the cleaning-but I'm honest & tell them it's all part of the service-but they will insist on giving me extra!!
