Bigger hose.

Looking for a larger diameter hose, of the same type we all seem to use. 10mm or 12mm internal diameter. Preferably 100m lengths….
Any thoughts?

Thanks.

back in the day when we started using the poles all you had was normal garden hose  a pig to roll up and could only get about 25m on a hose reel.

Agree. We used to daisy-chain several Hozelok reels together to reach one house. Trying to wind the hose in, in winter, was a nightmare as it was so stiff. Minibore made a massive difference to our working lives - and it was 100 meters long.

Yeh, garden hose is crap though innit. Kinks and splits. I’m using it at the moment as the smaller bore hose doesn’t allow enough water through.

How old is your pump?

Using half inch hose to clean windows is crazy IMO...there's no way you d get 100m on a reel.

Try swapping  your pump out for a new one

You could use 2 smaller bore hoses in parallel gives you virtually same cross sectional area as 12mm. You will have some pressure/flow losses due to tees and increase in surface of the hose causing more friction but it might be better and easier than a 12mm hose.

I use 300 ft of 10mm internal flt hose which lays flat with a 12mm outside diameter to allow double the  flow of water from a 6mm microbore hose, suits me down to the ground as it's lighter as well, quicker to pull out and reel in.

It’s not for cleaning windows.

Tricoflex is very supple and good quality

if your not reeling in/out dozens of times a day get the clear hose thats braided

these reels can take unto 150 meters of 1/2" bore hose
