what should i do?
« on: January 12, 2006, 03:05:33 pm »
Hi all
I have noticed that my local bookies have had an ad up for ages as the require a part time cleaner.
Do you think it would be cheeky to write to them to ask if we can manage their cleaning?
Provide staff, materials, etc.
They want a person for mornings prob 2-3 hrs 7 days per week.
What would you do??

Commercial contract is what i would need aswell but I would need someones assistance with doing one of these.
Thanks
Lisa

The answer is YES if its what you want then go for it. You have to grab all oportunities. They can only say no, and if they do just present them with a simple quotation in the post with the inclusion of keeping it on file for future reference.

You have now got a 50/50 chance which will be more then you had before you picked up then phone.

There is enough info on here for the contract dont worry about that just at the moment.
Everyone seems normal untill you get to know them!

I would say go for it. Go in and see them in person.
Youve nothing to loose, theres enough people on here to help you sort out a contract.
Fingers crossed.

I have recently noticed that you are looking for a part time cleaner, an i wondered if you had considered contracting a local cleaning service to manage your cleaing requirements as an altenative to hiring a cleaner.
All our cleaning staff are CRB checked, and fully vetted, insured and expereiced, and we are available to clean your premises straight away.
If you would like to discuss your requirements please contactme ..............

I look forward to hearing from you soon

do you think this sounds alright, do you think i should put a current price list in. as its commercial and every day, we could prob afford 7.50 - 8p/h or something like that

Also follow it up in a few days with either a phone call or a visit as this can increase your success rate enormously.

do my prices soud about right.
if i say 7 hours or under per week £9 per hour
if i say 7 - 14 hours per week £8 per hour
if i say 15+ hours per week £7.50 per hour.
I know that commercial doesnt give immediate profit, little and often instead.

We need to sort you out girl!

Of course you should go for it. Grab everything while you can but make a profit why don't you?

With regards to how you approach it..........................hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Are you still in Shrewsbury or have you moved to Chester?

Just thought I might come out and spend a day 'selling' with you.

Regards

sort me out in what way cms  :D

I'm still in shrewsbury.
The prices are based on one cleaner. I was thinking of increasing slightly because at that price 67% of the estimated annual price would be wages, leaving around 10% profit.

I'm having a daft day, need some confidence boost pill i think :)

might be a completely stupid question, but when you price a contract, dom or comm, do you add management costs?
management costs beiong a % of managers wages and expenses? perhaps this is where I am going wrong  ???

Becuase i have been self employed through new deal programmes i have forgotten how to pay myself, and feel guilty when i do.  :-[

I always keep the wage bill at 57% of the charge. It works for me and has done for many years
