Title: Guttering inside the van for pole storage
Post by: Caleb Morley on November 14, 2017, 08:27:21 pm
Has anyone fixed guttering to the inside roof of their van, to store poles?

If so was it easy? Any advice?

Cheers,

Caleb

I used it in an old van and just used cable ties but it's better to have it a couple of inches lower. Hopefully someone will post better fixings.

Im fortunate as my van came fibre glassed and has a bulk head. So i secured a piece of wood to the bulk head and one going across width of the back, using L type brackets for joinery. Then i have used D type guttering and secured with gorilla glue. That glue is really good. Though you need to score the guttering for a stronger bond.
But all relatively easy to do

Grippa sell a
Grippa clamprack stud at different lengths about £2 each

And a metal tube clamp which will clamp there pole tube or a gutter tube for about £7

I use two studs and two clamps with a tube in it per pole Choose length stud how low you require the pole tube

In the cross beams of the van there are holes the studs are well suited to go up into and tighten on themselves, the clamps have a threaded section which just threads up onto stud

I also put one tube either side of the van then bolt a section of metel tube to each clamping either side van  forming an area where I can put a ladder inside the van out of the way also space for gutter tubes and also the modular poles when needed
