Van cleaning
« on: July 31, 2014, 02:34:00 pm »
Here is a nice and easy one.

A company I do a lot if work for have asked me if I could wash 5 of there delivery vans weekly. I've been told the vans will be lined up ready for me and there is a water supply on site.

They would like the vans to be washed and dried.

How much would you charge for this or how much time would you delegate?

Would be nice to see if I'm in the right ball park.

Thanks in advance

See what they charge down the local supermarkets, i seemed to remember they charge around £8 - £12 for a medium sized car or van.

I had my pick up cleaned yesterday, not on a supermarket car park but by hand.

2 lads, had to be at it for 15 minutes - he wanted 6 quid.

I gave him another couple of quid and told him it was too cheap.

There's a lot of difference in vans. Are they a Transit Connect, a Movano, an Iveco LWB or another?

Easy money. I was going off my van LWB vivaro.
Regular money is the bonus here and you can get someone to do it easy enough.

I wish it was that much Rob. It's so easy now to go down the local car wash and get it done for £2.50 round here, or £4 a van. Exactly why I don't do any new work in this area anymore.

£2.50 😱

It's around £10 for "wash and go" in the south west

Crazy ain't it?! You can get your car washed, waxed, full vacuum and windows dash shins etc for £10 and there is about 4 guys working on it at once, I have no idea how they make money.

Im a car valeter, if they simply want hand washing with 2 buckets, pressure washing off and drying i would charge £50. take an hour or so.

depends on if its out of your way though, charge what you you want according to your hourly /daily rate.

I dont do anything for less than £50, not worth it by time u take of travelling, fuel costs, tax etc.

its like owt, charge what you want to earn simple as

I dod a full valet this morning, interior cleaned/dressed, shampoo all carpets, seats etc, clean engine bay, and a once over with the machine polisher, tyre/trims shined etc. 4 hours work for £120.

some valeters would do this for £40  :o
