which van?
« on: December 09, 2005, 05:05:35 pm »
hi all

been doing a bit of research into what van to get for my pressure washing business for next year. i'm currently towing a trailer. it seems that the lwb/swb transit 350 is very popular and has had good reviews in the independant sites i have come across. the renault and citroen panel vans have been slaughtered.

anyone got any advice on what to get or probably just as important what to avoid.

Regards

Hi I am just about to buy a Mwb  medium roof new shape transit 300 Unfortunatley the Lwb is too long to fit on the drive space at home. The swb is far too small and you canot stand up inside.

What about the VW Transporter.
I think they would take some beating. Ive got an old one with 256k on the clock and it has served me well.
To be quite honest it has been better than any tranny that I have owned, as I have always been transit fan.

I'd agree with Preston Powerblast - VW transporters are the way forward

eg 54 scudo pre reg £7.000.00
     54 vw transporter 13000 miles £11.000.00

running cheaper economy better just not as classy, some say problematic weve had 3  no bother.

you find ducattos for just over 8

Thought I would get my two pence worth in, I have a Transit LWB 190 year 2000 at present, for weight carrying and stabilitie would recommend to anyone I may add it is a non turbo, still plenty of power and reliable so far bought from new never had a problem, like everything else if you get a good one your laughing best off luck on your choice.

My transporter is an 1.9 diesel non turbo, very economical and will happily trundle down the motorway at 70 all day long.
It pulls like a train up hills.
Cheap on parts and are supposed to be good for a million miles if serviced regular.
