Hi all,
I was wondering if it's safe to drink purified water. I live in the hard water area (400tds out of the tap).
I understand that minerals in the water are inorganic and have almost no benefits to our health. I get all the good staff from consuming dairy products, green juices and beer. I have been drinking purified water that comes from a membrane but hasn't gone through the resin yet for about a year now. I think the pure tastes better but it might be a subjective opinion.
The setup is this: form a tap to booster pump to sediment & fibredyne filter, 4040 membrane to a glass [Tds 8].
Cheers

Yes I'm just starting out really,
Dad's fine, still pretty much the same. We both enjoyed a few on Saturday lol :P. He's working for a firm out Knottingley way now pretty much same as BRK I think. I'll mention you to him when I see him.

Who's Tom rhino Mr rave ???, just remember Barry Mallet is my mate and i will be sending him and Chavley round to your house >:(

I would say you can drink it as...
1. It has zero TDS (so quite literally nothing in there to kill you) ;D
2. My RO system that can be plumed into a water tap has resin on the last filter (after the membrane) .
So yes I've also had a good old drink, and the mrs uses it for the water for her fish tank.
However... if you do die... please dont tell the family you read this.
Jase.

My experience, from 2 occasions when it was over 30 degrees and was too lazy to go back to the truck to grab my drinking bottle:
1st time I gulped down over 1/2 litre of TDS-0 water - refreshing, but 15 minutes later felt completely drained of energy. Thought I was just getting flu or something.
2nd time a few weeks later - same result - 15 minutes or so and feels like someone's pulled the plug on me.
Anecdotal? Yes. But I think it may be a bad idea when you're dehydrated - possibly due to the water diluting your system fluids without adding any minerals, or even leeching electrolytes out.
But I'm not a doctor.

I'm with this fella. Water is rarely pure naturally. Evian and the like charge a premium for high mineral content.
