Is it the time for this forum to require everyone to show their ful ID ie name, where they from etc, in their profile.  Even a picture.

Othe rforums do it - why not this one.

Any comments you guys.

Your dead right Joe, I think they should make it compulsory. It pee's me off when you get a newbie - possibly a cowboy trying to find out how to do his own job properly! (no offence to new, hard working, honest & dedicated newbies) ;D

I try not to bother replying to people who 'hide' their i.d. if they cannot be arsed to fill it in and be honest - then why should I bother ??? They shouldnt be given the time of day in my book.

Rant over - going to have a beer now 8)

Been debated several times over the years, but for various reasons Mike B has decided against it.

Usually because in the past we have had some industry high profile people whos identity needed to be protected.

I do not think they post anymore

OK I'm going to do it. Tried putting up a picture but it timed out/said the file was too big. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Guys

We have always had a fairly relaxed approach on this board but keeping track of who is who with so many people choosing to post under psuedonyms, most of who are not even banned is proving more and more difficult.

Maybe time has come to make the forum a bit more exclusive.

To me it comes down to manners, when you meet someone you shake hands and say your name.

I have personally been abused by people hiding their identity which is pathetic and cowardly.
We do not all have to agree but should surely be able to disagree with dignity.

It's Mike's call but from moderators point of view knowing who you are talking to would make life a lot easier.

Cheers

Doug

I wish i had used my name or company name when i opened the acount, but hey it was a few years ago and i opened it with Harvey which i used on a couple of other forums at the time.

Have added my picture a few days ago.

I agree it is better to see who you are talking to  :)

Woo hoo its........................ Friday  ;D

How do you add a photo??
You know my name and you know generally where I come from would that be sufficient.
Because I would be reluctant to put any other details up.

I've tried several times today to update my profile so you can all see my ugly mug, find out how old I am and know that I operate my C/C and O/C business in Helston and the Lizard, and other parts of West Cornwall. But the computer says no!

I've got nothing to hide..... Just ask my wife!
