SCRUBBA DELUXE or MINI SCRUBBA for mostly domestic
« on: April 06, 2009, 09:09:11 pm »
Would the Deluxe be too cumbersome for normal rooms in houses ? i know its only 3inc bigger but it looks a lot bigger

And least if you have the Deluxe you'll be able to cope with any big jobs that come your way... You might be limitting yourself if you go with the mini!!! I use nothing else but the deluxe and 99% of my jobs are domestic.

That sounds sensible i suppose i will get some commercial work in the near future.

Im sure i read somewhere about a 300 psi filter for the scrubba instead of the 100 psi one as standard do you know how much they cost ?

Re: SCRUBBA DELUXE or MINI SCRUBBA for mostly domestic
« Reply #3 on: April 06, 2009, 10:58:02 pm »
I only pump 135psi through mine!! I've noticed it's leaking at the join now so I need to get it sorted out!!!

Not too sure about the filter thing though.... I'm sure John or Brian will sort you out at Extracta, their customer service is second to none.

Just be careful if you buy a high psi machine that you dont use it at high psi on something designed for lower psi.

Although the Deluxe is wider and therefore allows better coverage. The mini scrubba is very manouverable, great for tight spaces.

They are both great machines on domestic and commercial. My personal fav is the mini, as it is much easier to use. Instaed of having a handle that locks into position, it moves freely rather like an upright vacuum cleaner. It's effortless work compared to the deluxe imo

Might have to treat myself to a mini then.... Certainly easier than hauling the Deluxe up flights of stairs!!!

I did a 3 bed today and I could hardly move with my Deluxe.... A rotary would have been even more cumbersome I would have thought!

And as for the triple vac, I have to wait.... the boss said ;D

They are compatible with most machines and to be honest, I half doubt that I'll never find anything better than the Scrubba... the RX20 looks a mean piece of kit come to think of it. If you've never used a Scrubba, perhaps you should Clinton.... A very under rated piece of epuipment!

I'll still use it with my tri vac "Mean Mo Fo" of a machine when I get it ;D ;D ;D

Had a go with a rotavac 360 and that was quite a small area it can work in also you don't need to raise the handle up and down to move it from side to side it also can be used for hard floor but a bit pricy.

Never been a better time to get a 2nd hand van as they can't get rid, pick up a Vito or a VW transporter as they last a long time body work wise.

Reckon a Dispatch or Shaun's recommended Vito are going to be a bit tight for a t/m let alone weight problems

Despatch is far cheaper than a vito and if you get one 12 months old you'll get a wedge off the was new price as citroens don't hold value like a mercedes.

Shaun

PS Not made for a Prowler but sod the weight I have a SWB ducato and I bet it's close I'll have to get rid of the passengers on either side ;D

It's not so much the waste tank as to a full fresh water tank.
No point in having a t/m & then fart arsing around trying to connect up to a customers water supply before you even start to clean

With the dispatch type i can get a water tank and a prowler in also portie and vac etc.Think dave ingrams new set up will fit in also and thats with a waste tank..

It's a smaller tank on that, you'll not get a porti in aswell but why have a dog and bark yourself, you can reach any job if you really want to!

ECS I totally agree, I carry a small hose reel but it's a faf refilling I look around to use the customers if I can but don't always need it.

I know everyone says it, and people were telling me but... I wish I'd got a bigger van. ::)

Even just another foot on a mwb would make all the difference, although I'd probably be moaning about parking difficulties if I had.

Considering sorting a frame for the water tank and put the TM above.

You be alright with a Prowler Clinton. ;)

I was on my way to a job the other week and went through Helston Town centre, the street was completely blocked by a bin lorry with it's hazards flashing... 5 minutes passed and the operatives were nowhere to be seen and the town is in grid lock. Then the two blokes came walking out of the pasty shop as cool as you like and got back in the lorry and drove off.....

I can't wait 'til I can do that ;D

As Goron said a while back, down here in Cornwall the roads are so narrow!

Like yourself Clinton, I'd like a tri vac first and then a new, bigger van.... Perhaps a VW with 6 seats (3 removable) so we can loose the Discovery (Diesel munching machine) and go back to being a 2 car family... The TM can wait until I have the demand. (i.e. more jobs to crack out in a day)
I got £670 for the back up machine and the new owners came over from Wembley for it.... in a Ford Focus :o :o :o

They got it in somehow! I'm sticking with the one machine for now as I find it easy enough to work on when things go wrong :-\

Thats the way to go mate and even though i have a good client base i find i can manage but thought i would get the 3 vac first for more power  then a new van and then move up to prowler as well, thing is i dont want to be just working all day every day as i have free time to do my hobbies ie biking and gym etc.

Just thought i need to upgrade this yr so then i will be set up for many years to come as i havnt upgrade for years :)

Just you need the work to justify the t mount and dont forget it needs fuel.

Yes you can manage with just your 1 machine and i had 2 back ups that i sold because of the room they took lol.

Do you use your discovery for the work ???

Or do you have a van ???

Like the idea of a 4 x 4 and did consider it last yr as there are c cleaners who use a vast amount of dif vehicles and they set there stall out to suit them..

Think units are going to get smaller in the next few years and like most things from cars bikes tv,s etc they become smaller but with more power.

Might even get a gennie at some point to run the set up ???
