I hope the moderators will allow this but given the work involved in organising this I would like to get a handle on whether its worth running another one.

I realise there will be the usual antogonists and hope that people will keep an open mind.

I have not been for last two years but voted yes.

If it was successful and you enjoy putting the time an effort in fine

If not put your time to making some more money for yourself.

It is not Doug, Mike H or Myself you have to convince but Mike B

Promotional rates for events are reasonable

Yes I would attend.

Without causing a row - just wondered why the 15 who have voted no wouldn't attend.

Could be something simple, or perhaps there is something they would like to happen on the day that hasn't been available before -  the organisers could try and accommodate other ideas.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the support mainly from people who have been before and enjoyed the day.

I would love to know why there are so many no's. Is it the £35 ticket price, the time of year (April), the location (Midlands), the content or for any other reason. Pete posted this on behalf of both of us to gain feedback as to whether it was worth putting time and effort into doing one again next year.

We would appreciate honest replies.

All the best,

I just set my Sat Nav and arrives there Millmount Road Meersbrook Sheffield.
But her and her friends are looking for a house with 3 large Bedrooms Parking on Drive for 3 Cars and a grassed Garden at back  not on a Hill. Sauna, Swimming Pool

The house before this was advertised with Swimming Pool but No Water

She Actually works at Rotherham's College Dinnington ? Campus A lecturer in Animal Care and Behaviour.

I do not know if College  has any carpets they need cleaning, but I do not think they have a bar so that idea is a non starter

I posted yes but if anything did put me off it would be the distance.
And I know its the same for alot of others, alot probably travel longer than me, hence the central location but I don't like any kind of distance driving.
I like the idea posted by someone else, i.e. a North & South CCDO but I can see how that would'nt be feasible.
Think the journey would easier if you could share the driving or at least travelled with someone....might let the train take the strain.  ;D

Colin honestly!!

Jason you found thousands of ££ pounds at the bottom of Sheffield hills where it went flat in the floods.

Meersbrook is where alot of tree huggers live, I find I do quite well with my eco marketing in that area they love the green message but they must be confused with cleaning chemicals as they don't tend to know what to use so therefore don't use any!!

But good point about the floods , Main problem besides parking is in Winter getting up the hill and down without crashing her new pride and joy.
Back to CCDO is there insurance Cover?

I organised a Charity Event recently and as I was not a Club or Organization who already had insurance I found I was not covered .

I nearly had to Cancel as the quotes for one day was £350, I was thinking it would be £90

Regarding travel and destination, i think the present location is fine, i have to
travel 200 mile. Best idea would be to hire minibuses etc, and pick up along route,
ie those coming from Scotland and there are a few could collect along the M6 corridor,
same could be done along other routes.

Derek, on ccdo forum i suggested a low moisture demonstration, as there is a lot of talk on
here about it, also i offered to take my old Scorpion, if someone could also bring their Airflex
And also 3 vac Altech, just so others, including newbies could see said machines all at once.
Paul Pearce (god) thought it was a good idea, also to have a speed competition of cleaning 10 sqm of carpet.

Anyone else have any ideas what they would like to see, maybe a high powerered tm
in action, whats your thoughts.

I'm still surprised that 35 people have taken the trouble to vote no, without any reasons why.

The organisers could learn as much from why people wouldn't attend - it can't be because they have got something on that day as no date has been set yet and would be at least 6 months away.

I voted no because the last one I attended was not very good in once you seen Dave powerwash a rug you have seen it,on the first one people went to see Paul Moss's leather cleaning/restoration which did not take place last time.If I was looking at say alltecs new portable they had on show I would want their full attention so I would visit them personally rather than get a quick 20 minute talk on their machine. The idea of launching clean which also divided people within the industry did not help the cause

The night before the main event is the best part of the whole event networking, informal chit chat with everyone.People want to know how to save money not spend it on tickets and travel they want it on their doorstep too.

Fair points Steve  - I must admit, my favourite part is the night before, plus I am usually too hungover the next day to fully appreciate it.

If I'm honest, I didn't enjoy last years as much, as it seemed everyone was stuck in a classroom all day listening to talks.

To put it into perspective , the annual Chem Dry convention was held 2 weeks ago in Manchester , over 500 attended , the cost for a couple was £800 inc hotel , not including travel.

They spend 000's just on professional speakers ,and fly over people from the states . Every year all the franchissees I know pay with pleasure for this as it is a great investment.

CCDO is not such a glamorous or flashy event, however it is an absolute relative bargain to the Chem dry event.

Would it not be possible to have something where just a bunch of carpet cleaners turn up, bring a picknick and natter about CC and show off your vans?

A bit like a Sunny day out?

No structure just a 'who's got the biggest TM' I like it sounds unique!

It got boring and everyone ped off by noon as the only thing good was a chin wag for an hour or so, no point of coming from all over the country and having a 60 min chat.

Shaun
