Cimex pads and brushes
« on: September 09, 2011, 01:16:54 pm »
Hi all,

I have just aquired a Cimex Cyclone R48 and would be very grateful if somebody with experience of this machine could tell me if pads are best or brushes for cleaning minging carpets?
I have tried looking for pad suppliers in the UK and they seem expensive for what they are, especially when they are so cheap in the States. Has anyone tried importing them from an overseas supplier?
With the machine I got green and black pads ( I know these are not for carpets) and white soft brushes. The guy who sold me the machine said that the yellow brushes are really good for the mingers but Cimex/Truvox say otherwise.
Cheers.

Nylon 8" White Pads for carpet tile.
White Polyprop Brushes for carpets.
White Nylon Shampoo Brushes or Tampicos for Rugs
Yellow Brushes for tiles & grout

You can also get some evil ones that look like the ones below when you seriously dont want to mess around.
Using these tomorrow on a glue removal project.

I find the pads best for low profile,

for pads buy 20inch white pads and cut out required size, you should easily get 5 pads per 20inch, 6 if your careful.
What encap solution are you intending to use ?

Hi Geoff,

Thanks for the advice, that will save some pennies!
The Encap I'm going to use is the Surround Ultra. Is that the best one?
Also how can I tell if the brushes I've got are Tampico or nylon, are the nylon ones stiffer because these feel really soft. There's a code on the brushes:  11-2007-0500 if that means anything to you.
Cheers.

So are the ones I've got the best for real mingers or would you recommend different ones off the price list? I just don't want to be caught short on a job.
And thanks again for the swift responses.

They will be fine.

I use the .6 polypropylene medium scrubs without any trouble.

I found that on carpet tile the shampoo brushes tended to distort quickly so went up to the above for tile, shampoo brush for broadloom and Tampico for oriental/tribals.

Yes. The newer ones have the plastic arrowhead backings on them.
