3:1 hypo mix will clean and rid you of the algae and lichen stains/spot if you have them, I sure there are threads along these lines of how to do this on the general cleaning section of the forum.

Hi Colin, If its just algae you want to remove we can supply you with a safe product that you dilute into a sprayer to dose the areas covered in algae, then just wait for a day or two and the algae will be gone and no need to power wash the area, ( thats provided its just algae bloom we are talking about here) send me an email if you require further info.    Regards  Tadgh

Tadgh,
Don't take this the wrong way, but most people that want the patios etc cleaning, don't want to wait a couple of days to see results, they want now, as in the day you come in to clean.
All this eco stuff is fine, but I'd go out of business if we cleaned this way as results need to be  immediate which customers want, bit like taking your car to be cleaned, car cleaning place says give it a couple of day after I have sprayed it with this solution and it will be clean, NO I want it clean today thank you. See my point?

Hi Roger, your fine i wont take it the wrong way, but Colin is a fellow CIU member and if he wants to maintain his indian sandstone there are other solutions than having to use Hypo based products which i am sure you will agree are not the safest products to be using, the product i was referring to is a maintenance product and once sprayed will keep algae at bay for six months, when it can be sprayed again to keep it at bay for another six months and so on. this is only a suggestion under no obligation and Roger i understand why you would not want your clients to know about these types of products.

Sodium hypochlorite
Highly corrosive
Will burn holes in your clothes, kill you grass, destroy your plants, impregnate your wife with other mens children, run up a bill on your credit card
If there is any sort of acid traces around will give off chlorine gas.
Short-term ingestion may cause burns to the mouth and throat, and sickness
Short-term inhalation may cause irritation of eyes and nose, sore throat, cough, chest
tightness, headache and confusion .
 ;D ;D ;D

Buy it here it's cheap
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sodium-Hypochlorite-14-15-w-w-5-Litre-5L-/130813591207?pt=UK_BOI_Medical_Lab_Equipment_Lab_Supplies_ET&hash=item1e7518fea7

If you are a business and you are using it you are open to prosecution as it is not licenced for the control of Mosses etc By the HSE.
Then there are the environmental issues to contend with....

As with any chemical only dangerous in the wrong hands and not used correctly do you not agree.
Yes Hypo is corrosive and can do a lot of damage, but only if not used properly.
These products you spray on and walk away from can be seen in most Sunday mags that come with your Sunday papers, so no secret really.

I believe Lee at Blastaway has it on his cereal in the morning. Does him no harm, although I believe it causes him to use the c word at random time :)
