I am cleaning a suite on fri,cream colour 70% polyester and 30% cotton and is wet cleanable.
The arms have got heavily soiled with ink off newspapers.
What is the best way to get the right result?
I will be using HWE with prochem chemicals or micro splitters
from sollutions(or i should say these are what i have at my disposal)
Any advice please.

Hi Paul,

The black colouration from news ink is composed of fine carbon granules. It can be fairly easily removed with Prochem A217 Ultrapac Renovate., subject to the usual pre-testing. An acid rinse would be advisable due  to the cotton content.

On the micro-splitting front, I imagine that Solutions Eco Spotter would be effective also, though I have yet to try it on this soiling. Try this first, agitating with cotton towel, as if effective, no neutralisation will be required.

most volital solvent with a good rinse should do the trick let the solvent do the work
dont scrub just extract.

Hi Paul

Solution Eco spotter which is alcohol based will remove the ink

It should be lightly sprayed and either removed with a towel or rinsed out

manufacturer has said do not dry clean, i take that to mean do not use solvents,would this therefore exclude the use of eco spotter,

Paul,

The Eco spotter is alcohol based, which is not the same as solvents used in dry cleaning.

The recommendation not to dry clean is likely to avoid tumble-drying anyway.

Tried putting the wife in a dry cleaning machine did not fit, so no chance with an armchair.
