ive just started doing in house quotes, going in at £3 a square meter, up to £5 a sqm to apply stain gaurd, depending level of soiling etc,

ive done 5 quotes and got two jobs. so far, 1 was commercial, 1 is domestic

i was wondering if anyone elsa does this, do you actually ask for the order there and then or do you always put it in writing, and what is your ratio of quotes to orders.

Dunny,

You are not quoting just for the sake of it.

Don't ask for the job - ask when it would be most convenient for you to do it  ;)

Hi Uncle John

I agree with you, ASK for the job and when they want it doing!!

I tread the soft sell route. I suggest that Sir/Madam considers my quotation in their own time and call me if they wish to proceed with part or all of the work quoted. I invariably walk out the door with the order ;D

What works for one person, doesn't necessarily work for another. Find out what works for you.

Safe and happy closing:)
