Ionics Pro 5
« on: February 07, 2007, 10:24:44 am »
Hi Guys. We have just purchased a van which may have as an optional extra an Ionics Pro5 300 litre sytem which is fully working and about 3 years old. If we get the option, how much is it worth and are there any buyers as we will probably remove it to sell?
Thanks
Tony

I may be interested, how easy would it be to upgrade to a 600 litre tank?

you will have to buy a new tank and fitting brackets

Thanks for the replies.

It would come with the 300 litre tank in a stainless steel frame and I would have the fitting brackets. Crysat clear is right an upgrade to a 600 lite tank would be a big task as they are purpose built to the size of the tank.

As soon as I know if the options there I will reply.

Thanks again :)

pro5 300ltr second hand is worth about £600-£800, depending on product water quality and age. if its 3 years or over it might not be crash test standard which will need extra welding done by Ionics plus fitting costs. if its got clamps and is crash tested standard it might be worth a little bit more.

Check the water meter on the system, it will give you an idea of how much the machine has been worked.

Look under the R.O there should be a date, this might give you a more acurate age of the system.

If it has diagonal bars on the sides of frame it should be crash tested.

I just bought another pro5 650, two poles 54ft and 40ft £1500. Might sell the poles if anyones intrested?

Thanks ProPole that's good information. I' think they'll be wanting more than that so I'll probably give it a miss. For the future where is the best place to obtain these units second hand please?
Thanks all

They are hard to come by mate, here and ebay is probably the best bet.

I had a stroke of luck, a local shiner I know bought it and never got on with it. He only used it a few times and hadnt used it in over a year he even forgot how to fill it. A little offer was made and a deal struck  ;D
