Hi All,

I made a brush that works well for about £2.50, not counting the Unger adapter cone.

1 cheap £1.44 Tesco plastic brush          1.44
1 2feet of 3mm fish tank air tube              .20
1 pair of air tube conecters                       .20
1 air tube T piece                                      .18

TOTAL                                                      2.02

I'll post later how to make it!

That is cheap, looks like an addis, in our tesco £2.99 with handle. Good fun tinkering 
David difficult to see the angle of the broom holder, is it 90 degrees or about 45 ?

It's a "Bentley" plastic shaft £1.44 from Tesco Cleethorpes

The shaft threded holder is at a low angle, probably les than 45 deg so you would have to put an angle adapter for normal poles.  I only use it on a small downstairs pole.

The bristles are abit stiffer than the "Salmon" brushes I use.  Handy on Downstairs, shifts bird poo easier!!


Going to try another brush with softer bristles.  Mind you it's more expesive.................£3.50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

   I already make my own, very similar but use the addis brushes, soft or hard, hard lasts along time and is very good for first cleans and facias, the soft can wear out in a fortnight.
   They cost 3-25 each and are very light, although I still have a vikan on my 30ft pole, but only bcause I dont use it much and am waiting for it to wear out - maybe by the end of the century.

Thanks David and Marc, Its an big advantage when cleaning horizontally at any distance up to  say 25ft over a flat roof to have a brush that has a 90 angle so that you are truly working the brush at that 90 degrees, otherwise you need to use an angle adapter to actually point the brush slightly upwards to get the required 90 degree angle, because of the standard floor sweeping angle of say 45 degrees
If that makes any sense

Thank is an interesting posting. The last time I was thinking about buying a well known makers brush with stiffer bristles I was quoted, by our local supplier, somewhere in the region of £60 or £70.

When I asked what the f****** **ll could cost that much for a brush he said to make my own which I never gave another thought to.

I'm going to give it go. Even if I get it wrong, it's still cheaper.

I'll post a more detailed description of how I made the brush.  Basicaly the same as Gaz H20 does!! I use his brushes and they are good quality and good value.
