modular or Extreme
« on: January 19, 2014, 03:38:16 pm »
I think I've won a little office block as the Directors have asked me to also quote their house's.
Today I have been to "offer up" my slx 25 with an extension making it 30' and its 6' short.
I think I could buy anther extension but this would make it floppy and at that height it would prevent me from solar panel cleaning.
So modular or 47' extreme? who has used both and which is better?
Also I may look to sell the slx25/30' whats that worth
Thanks
Tony

Modular is more rigid and lighter but a problem leaving pole sections lying on the floor when working in busy public places. Whenever and wherever I can I prefer to use modular poles for high work and extreme telescopic, (which is slightly heavier for the same height) in busy areas.
Only use both these poles for 4 and 5 storey work.
3 storey work prefer normal SL-X as more flexibility with pole length adjustments on the clamps.

I've got both at about the 35 ft mark well SL 46 and extreme 35.  Modulars are more suited to very long runs of glass due to the setup time.  You say a little office block and a directors house, that leads me to think that an extreme would be far better suited. I would not sell your shorter pole though, maybe replace with an extreme 25.

Extreme 25 with 35 extension pack would be ideal I think .
