Hi. I need some opinions in quoting a block of flats . I have an ideea but would.like to know what others would charge . They want them cleaned every 8 weeks .

It's a lot of windows but it looks pretty straight forward. I would be exhausted after doing that. I estimate I would need a full day to do that outside. In winter it might extend into the following day.  I would always add extra for issues that always pop up when cleaning.

My quote would be my hourly rate plus a bit extra.

I would also price it on an 12 weekly clean. They might say they want it done every 8 weeks but when they time comes they will want to renegotiate the clean interval for the same 8 weekly clean price.

Very straight forward clean so i have done you a price that i would charge - which is £395 + VAT

one man would/should do this in around 7.5 hrs solo but i would usually have a 2 man team on this type of work and they would do it in between 3 to 3.5 hrs as a pair

you could clean that job in 5 hours easy i reckon....id go in at £300 every 8 weeks........

We do several blocks very similar to this two people takes about 2:5 to 3 hours once up to speed, will take longer on first clean price wise £350 -400 depending  where you are in the country

I’m not being funny, but there are loads that talk about £30 an hour being a good rate. On that basis, if they get three quotes you haven’t a hope. We quoted a block a similar size with balconies so the cleaner had to go into the flats to do those and he was £200.

Hi.And thanks for all the replys .Our quote is £350 every 8 weeks and £450 every 12 weeks( we might go for £50 extra still deciding on that)
The only awkward windows are the sides of the bay especially on the third floor other than that quite straight forward .
First clean would take longer but nor longer than  6-7 h  i think .Last clean was done 10 weeks ago.They don't look bad at all but there where done off the ladder  Yes I know...madness .they decided to change the window cleaner as they would not provide PLI.

I recently got asked for a price for a block of flats for a property management company I’ve do a bit of work for on another block of flats in town. This time it’s just the communal windows every 3 months. Inside and out they got a price of £9.00 a window, I got the job 😂😂

Not really. I tend to charge £15 for a flat assuming there’s no complexity. I’ll drop for multiple flats. A small block probably £12 per flat. I wouldn’t bother going out to quote it.

I priced these flats up last year and got the job, in London. It was priced per window but equated between £55 and £110 a flat. 5 blocks of them. The prices varied because it depended how many blocks were cleaned.

nobody works 5 days a  week during those 46 weeks either.theyll be the odd half days or days off here and there for whatever reason,bad weather,bank holidays,etc....

52 x£750=£39,000 again not practical so you need to earn more per hour to reach £40,000+ over the course of a full year..

I just got the job . £400 every 8 weeks . First clean next week. Last clean was done about 10 weeks ago so they aren't very dirty

i couldn't agree more wouldn't even bother putting in a 4 weekly price  talk them out of it and put in your £450.00 if they really insist i would have a one to one with the site manager pointing out the 12 weekly price saying let us know any time if you prefer this option.

Next time  I think we can do it in 3h or just under and maybe use around 300-350 l. Also just got an email from them saying they look great .Some of the residents were a bit funny .One decided to clean th insides and opened the windows a few times during and after the clean but I explained to them they need to keep it closed until dry.Another one was sceptical using wfp and said it prefers traditional but hope he changes it's mind after today .All in all a very good job to be added to our portfolio. Definitely well more tired than a normal day with cleaning houses as you get more breaks

Thanks . We don't muck about . I'd rather be home early than make the working day longer . We've been reccomend by my plumber who did some work in the building so I guess that makes a difference with a prospective new customer

This is what annoys me about window cleaning, there’s always the few that go in way too cheap and bring the prices down for everyone else. If we all charged more, we’d all earn more money because the going rate would be higher.
