900 new customers by October 2014
« on: September 19, 2013, 06:54:53 am »
Thats the challange I have set myself and fully expect to acheive it  :)

Got a great lad who canvasses from van whilst Im working and so far in 10 days has got me 31 new customers which aint bad considering this is during the day and no evening or weekend canvassing - this starts tonight.

Planning to finish cleaning about 3.30 ish every day, have a brew at home then canvass till 6.30 ish so each evening between us thats 5 hours a day as well as during the day.

900 customers sounds a lot but broken down its just over 17 new customers a week.

1st cleans done there and then or on a Saturday so wont interfere too much with normal days work.

Expect updates over next 12 months  :)

Wow 900 customers!! Someone is hungry for it lol..
Im guessing you want 2 more vans out.
As long as you keep feeding your hunger to grow and not get full up with the grief from it im sure you will manage... You have said it now so failing isnt an option..
Ill look forward to watching you grow.

Sounds like you've hot the big between your teeth Ian and I hope you succeed.

Well done ian.you sound motivated.
If you want it enough you will reach it.
900 custys is a lot but in real terms is just over 2 custys a day.
Out of interest and what stage do you anticipate needing a new van?
Takings off all first cleans till march 7th 2014
October  total=  cleaned  extra per month
November = cleaned extra per month
Total £  so far.

just getting VAT registered now so will be tricky to keep my advertising going at the rate needed to maintain growth though...

well not a good week for canvassing which due to trying to get everything into the month cleaned we have neglected our canvassing duties this week.

2 hours this morning and 1 hour during week has gotten us 9 regular new customers and £240 of FSG cleans so pleased with the result if not the effort put in but all day Wednesday will be spent canvassing  :)

well the year is nearly over and not done too bad with 80+ new customers since September with so far only 1 messer which owes me £25 for 1 clean from last month - done 3 times and messed twice so gonna get money tomorrow then dumped.

Booked Paul Dale for a week in May and June to give us a quick boost along the way.

Feeling confident for 2014  :)

So how many will you have when you've got your 900? Or how many did you have before you started canvassing?

Was circa 300 just before canvassing but had a sort out of some jobs and sold a 3/4 day round off so actual number before start of expansion drive was 240 ............. so when finished will have circa 1150 customers.

UPDATE - for those interested  :D  ... the real push starts NOW  ;D

All work for Janaury will be completed by tomorrow so gives me 9 days to canvass and first clean.

This was made possible by the late December work not being done due to poor weather and Christmas so that now has become my week1 work ........... worked a few Saturdays and started earlier than normal and worked a lot harder to get it all done ... massive day tomorrow then all done bar a few small jobs.

Got Dan the Man booked in for 9 days canvasing with a mate of his keen to earn some dosh before he goes into Army.

Booked canvasser Paul Dale for a week in May to specifically crack a new area ... at 2 times the clean plus a small amount for BandB too good a deal to say no to.

About to place an ad in job centre for self employed canvassers - did this back in May last year but for some reason nothing was ever fowarded to me and when logged in this morning found there had been 9 applicants  ::)roll ::)roll

Will update as and when  ;)

I only picked up 3 in december that came out to me! But done there 2nd cleans last week with no problems and all paid. Its a bit of a myth everyone wanting a xmas 1 off. The ones that do normally say they just want a 1 off if you ask them.

Not a myth in my experience. 15 Decembers I have been cleaning windows, I stopped taking on new customers in December about 5 years ago.

I take their details and do them in January.

Good luck Ian, I'm trying something along the same lines, but set the target at a 1000  ;)by the end of the year, been out canvassing this month, but have already found that keeping up with new first cleans can be tough, poss thinking that a van and a man may be needed just for first cleans. I think it can be done, but it's a lot of hard work! Hope it goes well for you, will keep an eye on your post to see how things are going.

well this expansion lark not as easy as it would seem  ::)roll

dan and myself have been out canvassing all day today and half of yesterday  (commercial job in morning) and all day tuesday ... monday off ill with man flu and sorting tax return ............ so far this week we got 13 new customers between us  :'( so dont think we will do weeks target of 45.

however if I count from last sat it gives us 18 so far ... maybe 2 tomorrow so 20 for a week which at that rate will see us do our 900 target give or take.

lighter nights on way so plan from next week is to finish a little earlier at 3ish and canvass till its dark

the work is out there .... just we struggled to find it this week  :)
