sorry yes you do mean st ives town .no i gave up on st ives itself and just do the outskirts .its hell in there in the summer for parking and  stuff. can earn loads more elsewhere

still test your tds because sometimes the system cant work fast enough to purify if your flow rate is to high,or has something got contaminated.

the water has to pass over the surface area of the resin beads for them to work there magic and if the di bottle is small the water can flow past to fast and not enough beads to cope with the flow rate .
thats  another thing i learned on the bwca course.

It could also be something to do with that black sticky stuff.
Or it could be wfp dont work , i am yet to be convinced.

like i said before the first few days it was faultless , and i mean that , i will cut the pressure back tomorrow and see what happens , but maybe you are right about the black stuff , i just gave the brush a good soak in ungers , it came out a bit , still some left , only time will tell .

Rich,

What WFP system are you using?

Are you using DI only, or R/O but feeding the water through the DI directly as you use it??

If everything you did was spotting then the water that was hitting the glass must have been contanimated in some way.

Set your water flow to exactly the same as  on the day you were having problems, disconnect the hose from the brush, fill a glass with the water and check the TDS.

If TDS is high then the problem is probably at the DI end.

If the TDS is good then your brush may well be contanimated.

Is the brush of the flocked variety or the single filament type?

The flocked ones if they become comtanimated, because of their nature, can remain contanimated longer than the single filament ones.

If you wash out your brush, regardless of the solution used, make sue you rinse the brush out in first normal tap water and then in a bucket or two of pure.

If you can leave your brush in a bucket of pure water at 0.000 TDS and agitate & leave to soak for a little while, when you check the TDS of the water it should still be at 0.000 or as near as damn it

You could also make sure the settings are the same as when you were having problems and clean a couple of your own windows to see if they too spot up. ( prior to cleaning everything out of course!)

Good luck

IAN , I have just done my own windows , 3 windows , and i used a different method on every one , i did one really shoddy and even that one came out like crystal , thats what i dont understand , i am coming round to the idea that maybe the sun was to blame for the nasty windows yesterday.

My system is all seperate components , the brush is oval vikan flocked ends.
The DI is all i use , its 18" tall and 22" around {PARK INTERNATIONAL}
