Enquiries have dried up, for now.
« on: March 22, 2020, 09:07:24 am »
I’ve noticed a huge drop in enquires via email and phone.

Usually I’d get 1-2 enquires every day.

I don’t think I’ve had one for about 7 days now.

All to be expected, but unprecedented none the less.

Thank God we don’t rely on continual new business in this job.

I feel sorry for so many self employed, and employed right now. What a financial shock to so, so many.

Im tripping over thousands of flyers that we were supposed to be sending out this week and the coming couple of months.

f***ing gutted.

Still breathing though.

I picked up 3 new jobs last week and I dont have a website.....I'm not expecting many new ones over the next few months but who knows?....

Just crack on as normal until the government ban us from working
price higher/work harder!

It could be more damaging if the government doesn't ban us but the public do. It's unlikely that'd it be a complete shutdown but we'd then be entitled to nowt.

I suspect that social pressure, our own sensibilities and by the end of this coming week legislation will stop the average window cleaner from working.

It's a game of three halves!

I agree.
It looks like SSP is going to be our best option, so far. Or temporary jobs.

The irony is that entrepreneurs who have created jobs and businesses and have been the backbone of the economy now find themselves in a worse position than their employees!
And those who have been prudent are the worst off of all.

Picked up 10 new ones last week, lost about 5 though.

I'll keep going until either the losses out weigh what's coming in or the government stops us.

Tbh I’m not concerned about enquiries at the moment I’m more concerned with keeping the customers I’ve got, I’m hoping when this is all over I haven’t lost a big chunk of my round.

At the very least, you should be able to persuade them to just miss a month, rather than lose them entirely, but who knows - if people start losing their jobs (which is happening) they’ll make cuts.

Hopefully we will keep most of our work...

This is getting confusing, im not sure where we go from here, tried to avoid the news, just switced it on and the mayor of london says we shouldn't go out or people can die, ok help us make a decision , the other thing is i think it will be good for us to carry on working to keep active and motivated, its a tricky one this.

I am thinking right now the Mayor of London is speaking to Londoners. Its a crowded, dense city. They have underground trains and crowds of people, all within inches of each other, breathing down each others necks, literally. Its a petri-dish waiting to explode.

If I was in London I wouldn't be going to work.

When I go to work tomorrow morning the nearest person to me will be 100 yards away, I'll be working in isolation. And I'll definitely be working, paying my bills, paying my taxes and avoiding other humans.

Probably in a few days we will need to re-evaluate things.
