Working from a main road
« on: April 27, 2006, 05:40:17 pm »
I have been asked to provide a quote to clean a block of apartments using WFP.

The building is 3 & 4 storeys high.

One side with 4 storeys is adjacent to a main road and to get the correct angle for cleaning means I would have to stand approx 3-4 feet in the road.

What experience has anyone had in applying to the local authority to temporarily cone off a safety area on both the pavement and the road?

I appreciate time of day will also play a part in this.

Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks

Steve

  Hi Spotless

I do a job of 3 & 4 storey flats that I haveto work off a busy road for about half an hour, I just park my van up and work behind it, this forces the traffic to go around me, it is just up the road from the local police station and they have never said anything even though they regularly drive by while I am doing it.

Hi Mark

The protection of pedestrians is my major concern.

I've just found this link:-

The bottom diagram seems to answer my question.

Thanks for your reply. ;)
