Skin Problems - any solutions? New
« on: April 26, 2006, 10:45:20 am »
Has anyone - like me - had skin probems since using WFP? I get a rash on my hands alone wich is V itchy resulting in skin breaks and then scabbing.  Cream such as  moisturiser is of little help - anyone else suffered and any soultions - other than packing it in!

Try putting on plenty of barrier cream before you start and keep repeating throughout the day: or wear the surgical gloves that you see mechanics wearing.

JDP

You want to get some advice re surgical gloves as they dont all protect you from water bourne irritations, I know a firm (www.sentinel-laboratories.com) that specialise in all kinds of gloves (latex, nitrile etc) and they will give you free advice as to the right gloves for you to wear.

Ask to speak to Vicki and she will put you in the right direction

I had problems but it was the gloves (unger neoprene) not the water. All OK now.

I've really sensitive skin, the big-soft Geordie puff I am, so I permenantly wear a cotton-inner glove with a hard-wearing marigold outer (bright orange).

Other window cleaners do make fun of me mind, but my hands are in good nick.

You lot might think you're big and hard when you're all ganging up on me, but I'm not frightened.

I'll get you all, one by one, probably when you're not looking too.

Don't take the mick out of me; just 'cos I've got sensitive skin and wear bright orange Marigolds.

I also use healthy amounts of Neutrogena, Norwegian formula hand cream; concentrated and unscented.

It instantly relieves dry or chapped hands.  Just a dab needed.

It provides immediate and lasting relief for even the most dry hands.  Just a dab of this glycerin-enriched formula instantly relieves and protects seriously dry or chapped hands.  Even under the harshest conditions, it leaves hands noticeably softer and smoother.

Concentrated for over 300 applications.

(I've been working too hard; sorry; roll on the winter and shorter working days). ;)
