My employee is entilltled to 5 days holiday a year... as stated in his contract.

that's good of him thou problem is James that if you employ you legally need to do things right that's the problem and that's why alot of people don't do it.

so for someone working 16 hours a week what are the holidays more then 5 days!? paid even thou he works say 2 days a week!?

what about 0 hours then no holiday pay?
whats the cheapest way of doing it?

0 hours would still require holiday pay at an average of theast 12 weeks earnings. 0 hour contract is only of use during bad week where you have no work. And, they would still be entitled to take their 28 days off!

Im only going by what ive been advised my my accountant... so until im told otherwise, thats how it is. I will contact her this week and query it...

No, you can stipulate that bank holidays must be taken as holiday in the contract of employment.
