what do you spend on food at work?
« on: December 19, 2011, 08:20:20 pm »
If your of the lardy persuasion like me, I spend a fortune so much so that im thinking of giving up my beloved daily fry up! Yes thats right chaps DAILY!  ;D

Basically i never make packed lunch and most days i have my nuclear coffee and a fry up and it does me the whole day but if i do end up buying a sandwich and a drink it all adds up...

To getting towards £2k a year!  :o

Im sure I could put that money to better use. so who are the die hard squeak when they walk packed lunchers? and who gives themself an occasional treat?  ;D

I spend between £3 - £5 a day depending on whether its tesco or a petrol station!

I usually take a 20 - 30 minute break around 1pm.

Nothing, I have breakfast and don't stop for breaks
Go home 2-3 and put me feet up with the family.
I used to go the cafe every day but found it would cost me a fortune
And about 5 hours a week when I added it up
So this is my winter plan and seams to be working for me!
keep it simple

well this is a very good point colin and at this time of year I can not afford to lose that amount of time really. I will probably try breakfast at home and a packed lunch. starting tomorrow as didnt work today and weather a bit dubious for the rest of the week so got to get as much done tomorrow as possible. tomorrow is gonna be the best day weatherwise for us.

my beloved daily fry up! Yes thats right chaps DAILY!  ;D

The cost in financial terms is probably nothing compared to the cost of what it's doing to you in a physical sense.

Take a packed lunch; there's no fannying about getting parked by places where you want to buy food from.

I buy a loaf of 50/50 from Lidl and make sandwiches in bulk for me and my wife which are then frozen.

Ham and mustard, beef and mustard, cheese and mayo, roast chicken and cheese and mayo - all work well with a bit of butter and some salt and pepper. Have a jetboil stove for brewing up on the go but I sometimes grab a real coffee as a treat.

Avoid any vegetable / salad with a high water content as it is bad news when frozen.

Bon Appetit!

Me; just made them.  Pretty much the same every day, with the exception of the sandwich filling.

Sarnies
Cans of coke (I just leave a slab in the van otherwise they all disappear)
yoghurt
crisps
chocky bar
apple
flask of coffee

Wor Lass does the dog's morning walk.
