Title: Steam cleaning
Post by: Karl1991 on June 28, 2022, 07:41:02 am
Hi all

Is someone able to explain to me the benefits of a dedicated steam cleaning machine such as the Torik/ doff machines over a hotbox?

To the uninitiated the hot box seems to do the same thing and is a lot cheaper? Am I missing something  ???

Thanks I’m advance.

Basically torik etc works better and is hotter

I have used both and for a time I was happy with a hotbox however as we got more complicated work the hotbox comes up short for paint removal and delicate works

Ok thanks Smudger.

I don’t suppose there’s much difference between the Torik and Doff?

Most old hotboxes are around 15lpm ...they will not achieve much above 80c.
You can now buy much larger hotboxes/boilers. 21/25L
With a reduced flow at the washer , These will get as hot as a Torik or Doff.
I think the Torik is 30L and the DOFF 21L
