Hi Alex ,
I was wondering if you have any plans to do a full stiff version of the extreme sill brush ?
I have an all red bristle version of the ultimate but i prefer the extreme sill .
Rob

I have an extreme sill stiff ::)roll
It's a great brush btw
-
I use the medium sill brush almost exclusively.
https://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/water-fed-poles/brushes/super-lite-radius-sill-brushes/the-super-litear-radius-sill-brush-dual-trim-medium-mixed-bristles.html
I would like to use the stiff brush especially in Summer for the insect spots but what puts me off is the bristles protruding from the sides.
Most of the houses here are sandstone even touching it with the brush stock brings sand shuttering down can't imagine what it would be like brushing up and down against it!

I have a couple of houses like that , so i know what you mean , the extreme sill brush doesn't have bristles protruding from the side though .

I wasn't planning on as we generally find the current stiff version is OK for most users.
However it is of course possible to have a stiffer version made.
What temperature water do you currently use?

I run pretty high temps Alex , 70-80 at the heater , obviously it will lose some by the time it gets to the brush but i much prefer the feel of the full stiff and it tends to keep its shape a bit longer.
Would be great if you could make a full red bristle version ?
-
How’ve you not cracked a window at that temp!
When I first started using hot I had it similar temps and cracked a small glass window in feb cold time!
I only run at 30°ish out of the jets now(50° on boiler)and it feels just above warm but never cracked anything since!

i agree...i think it would be great for hot water users...the full red bristle ultimate brush is the best brush ive used with hot water,it keeps its shape better than any other light gardiner brush and is a good solid all around brush,an xtreme sill with the same red bristles would be the missing link...... :)

Nope . Not so far in over 2 years of using hot .
-
I said this a while back, there needs to be a red bristle only version for hot water, the current stiff doesn't cope well with hot water.
-
The brush I’ve found that keeps it shape best with hot water is the dupont”Gardiner’s”much much better than all others in the range.
-
So what do you think Alex ..........is it a possibility?
-

Yes it is possible :)
Working on some new stiff white bristle material currently so this may be a possibility to switch over to.
-
I don’t like stiffer bristle brushes the DuPont ultimate I think I have is the best brush I’ve had for holding shape with hot water, unless the windows are still very clean you run the risk of leaving brush strokes on the glass I’ve found.
Medium bristle that holds onto its shape is perfect for all round cleaning on most glass,if it doesn’t hold shape after a few weeks it’s useless
-
I doubt there’ll ever be a perfect bristle or pole hose.

We are finding that the current version of hot brushes stiff version is only lasting 4 weeks (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1579691512_C35F22B5-3173-466C-80E3-949AF7F67420.jpeg)(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1579691510_373CD6E7-CE76-4E56-8173-E68547F450C2.jpeg)

That V in the middle of the brushes is what makes them useless this happens quickly with hot water even after reshaping it,this doesn’t happen anywhere near as quickly with cold water I would go as far as to say it’s a fault in the brush this part of the brush needs re designing, something like stiffer bristles on this part of the stock only once this happens it’s there for the rest of it’s life.
-
Lol that red brush in the picture I’ve never used a brush that looks like that one,I’ve binned them way way before that stage.
I use them in rotation so they never get to that state.
-

Perfect bristles for me already exist ........just on the wrong brush .
Pole hose will always be a pain .

This is my ultimate stiff brush....its 6 months old but its had 3 months use as I only use it for around 2 weeks a month.personally this brush has been the best to use with hot water for me....loads of life left in it yet.....👍

Any update on maybe producing a fully stiff extreme brush for hot water users in the summer? similar bristles to the stiff ultimate in the above pic from dazmond?
I would be willing to pre order ten fully stiff extremes if that makes it more worthwhile?
-
I think you will find it costs a lot to alter the tooling, and would need a lot more than 10 brushes to make it viable 😂😂
-
Lol 10 I think you need to have another think about that and call it 500-1000 for it to be worth a production run.

Hi Robert
There would not really be the demand for two Xtreme Sill stiff brushes (current semi-stiff and a new stiff). So we would have to decide if enough users would prefer a full stiff version rather than the current one that is just 'fairly stiff'.
Once we decided which was most in demand it would be very easy to produce these in full stiff version. The difficult bit is deciding if all the current users would also prefer a full stiff version or if this was not wanted.
-
Personally I would like to see this too....the red bristles are much better for hot water use in the summer and would be great on an xtreme brush IMO as the water gets very hot this time of year
-
Nope. Like the current versions thanks Alex
Don’t change anything!
For people like me who don’t boil their brushes the flocked sill is nearly perfect for everyday work whilst the stiffer versions are great for more demanding jobs.
-
Fully stiff brushes don’t clean as well as the medium even with hot water in my experience,I wouldn’t use a stiff brush at all if I was using cold water the results can be an eye opener up close if you go inside and clean the insides.
The thing I find them good for is cleaning in the small cracks and crevices on PVC windows.
-
Aren’t all brushes pretty much the same?
;D

No all brushes aren’t the same it depends on the temperature of the water you use and type of windows you’re cleaning,if you used a stiff or soft come to think of it supreme brush you would struggle to clean certain windows ie leads just to name 1 example.
-
I would like to see more development with the Supreme stock type. I reckon that size and shape of stock has so much more potential!👌😎

Jeepers, it’s sweeping glass.
-
Jeepers, it’s sweeping glass.
But it's not. It's getting spiders nests out of lower sash corners- where the upper sash runners prevent you from passing the stock further than 10mm over both sides. Xtremes fail miserably here. It's getting that top frame clean of any and all contamination where there's only a 10mm gap between it and the brick, stone timber frame. It's getting into the side sash runners to remove all the spiders, webs, flies etc. It's the 'effective' coverage of a given brush to determine how many passes are required per any given situation. It's the 'wet' weight of the brush which will determine the compromise between ease of use and efficacy. It's so many things, that should be so simple, but somehow have become so over complicated thus we now have a huge, over glutinous range of options that none of them seem to satisfy more than one or two specific requirements, or excel at anything that doesn't create a more negative side effect, resulting in a van loaded with £300 worth of brushes to deal with what one, maybe two at most, well designed brushes could easily achieve.
It should/could almost be as simple as 'sweeping glass' but the industry seems determined to bow to a minority and solve problems that don't exist. Instead of moving forward in a more positive, effective direction.
Rant over!😎👌🙂

We use supreme stiff brushes and hot water for everything no other brushes are needed they do every well .

How many would you need to produce for it to be worthwhile? I think where the extreme has less bristles , a fully stiff version with hot water works really well in the summer , The fully stiff ultiimate i had was brilliant but prefer a lighter brush .

I thought your water came out a t a million degrees centigrade ? you dont half talk some crap.

Im not asking him to stop selling what he sells already.

The tooling will be the same , its just loading a different roll of bristle material onto the machine , could easily be done at the end of a run , they already must do it to add the red bristles to an extreme stiff sill brush ..............like i said , you really do talk some crap.

I agree with splash and dash that the supreme stiff is the best with very hot water but it would be great if the stiff xtreme was made of the same bristles because the current one goes out of shape too easily with very hot water.....

It’s so easy you should start making em yourself m8 you just need a tool you say lol.
-
I don’t ever judge a brush until I’ve been inside and looked at the windows “Upstairs” not down,on ground floor windows you can apply more pressure to the glass and it’s easier to scrub harder and convince yourself it’s a great brush.
The stiff brushes are a good example of this they look great from the ground but hit and miss and patchy on the upper floors, you want a brush that has a very slight flop on the glass to some extent imo the DuPont bristles give you this they will clean far better with cold water than any other material.
-
I’ve just turned the tv off for this one! 🤣

Your so boring it’s unreal , we’re you dropped as a baby or not get enough love from mummy and daddy ?

You could volunteer your services as a tool.

Yeah read my post first I think I’ve already said that about the other bloke 🙄

I’m not asking your opinion on brushes , I have used a fully stiff brush with only the red bristles , like on the stiff sill brush , I do not use cold water .
How do you get through life without being punched .
