but why do customers think were expensive is it because they see lots of very cheap offer or that they can hire a machine cheap or something wish we could get in the mind of the customer then we would know what to do

For God's sake don't try and spend your way out of a quiet spell, it never works and just makes matters worse. Best bet is to cut your overheads and sit it out, in the meantime develop new marketing strategies for when things pick up.

Had a reg custy ask me to do her rug the other day,she is really minted, said I would do it for £32.50 as she is a reg and not a big rug,she said I was too expensive !!
Saw her brand new Merc compressor sports car outside the pub today, prob spent more on her lunch than what I was going to charge her !!

You should have said £90 given her a load of bullshht and told her how clever she is. That's what MB do.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Completely agree with Simon. I stopped advertising as soon as the snow started apart from my websites and will drip feed it back when it gets near april then really bump it up in may.

I'm lucky as i have very little debts and i have kept a few quality office cleaning contracts after selling most of them last year and i'm starting to get a few commercial jobs a month.
I also do the odd deep clean and hard floor so i don't need to rely on advertising for domestic carpet cleaning customers.

Must admit though, i would not like to start up at the moment and i have lost count of the amount of people who want advice on how to start up as a carpet cleaner!

My mate applied for a job as an Astronaut, one of the questions on the application form was, 'are you prepared to travel.' He put, 'no!'  :o'
