Ergo-lite Waterfed Poles
« on: January 21, 2005, 01:42:06 pm »
There is currently a lot of discussion about, the weight of waterfed poles. This is an important issue because in 2002 the HSE commission a report looking into the potential for long term injuries that may occur as a result of using waterfed poles.

The 2002 report made certain recommendations to manufacturers to reduce the weight of their waterfed poles and to address other technical issues as well as providing a better level of training for users.

Ionic's response to the 2002 report was to develop the Ergo-lite pole and make training available through its sister company the BWCA.

At the end of 2004 we commissioned the HSL to produce a second report to compare the new Ergo-lite WFP to the Universal WFP that they examined in 2002. I have posted a copy of the 2004 report in the document section so that you may read the conclusions reached by HSL yourselves.

Kind regards

A comprehensive document by the HSL that should answer any questions users may have when comparing poles
