Hardwater dposits on external brickwork

Posted by karcher (karcher), 16 August 2003
Hi,

My house has an unsightly greyish stain underneath an old overflow where water must have regularly poured out. Water no longer comes out but I can't get rid of the mark.

I have tried:
* A pressure washer
* A wire brush
* Brick cleaner
* Viakal (limescale remover)

Can anyone give me some advice on how I can get rid of it.

What about sand blasting.Alot of these latest jet washers allow this,all you need to do is go out and buy the part and some sand.just a thought until someone comes along with a better idea.

My washer has the capability, if I buy the kit like you say. I think it costs about £40 or so. I was hoping I would not have to resort to that. Even so - that might not even do it so it would have been a wasted purchase. Undecided
