Cleaning of Suede Sofa

Posted by Les (Les), 12 March 2004
Hi
Anyone cleaned Suede and if so, what method did you use.
A relative asked me to clean her Suede sofa and I thought it would be a specialist job so declined the offer. Shocked
She rang around and eventually settled for a National Franchise to carry out the work.
The person carrying out the survey talked about 'Special Expensive' chemicals.....no water etc.
The 2 blokes who turned up asked for 'a bucket of hot water...as hot as you can get it'. They then mopped the sofa using a sponge...she didn't see them use chemicals but can't swear to it.
They then wiped it over with some cloth....Job Done ! Shocked
No machines  No Drying equipment Total cost for 2 seater sofa and footstool £97.60 Time taken 45 minutes.
The sofa has dried a bit like cardboard.
Not impressed ! Sad
P.S. apparently the 2 where working together as a van had broken down and they had to get both peoples work done in the day.
