Just came back ..after 2 hours only 6 people in...what a pain the the backside
anyone got anytips on keeping this to a minimum without telling them somthing to harsh which might lead to cancalltionsPosted by Majestic (Majestic), 31 January 2004
Hi VGC
I think that most window cleaners have come across this problem,
1, Try to collect the money when you clean the windows,
2 ,Try to sort out a place they could leave the money, under a plant pot or something.
3, Leave a sae and get them to send a cheque ,
4 Tell them you are now only cleaning the windows of the houses that can pay you when you have finished
5 Every new customer you get tell them you will clean the windows if you get paid as soon as you have finished, then get rid of a call back
Hopefully one of these could work for youPosted by mickeyfat (VGC), 31 January 2004
apart from the sae i have tried all of the above..the new customers say fine (every single one) and then not one of them leave it of send a cheque
my card have please send cheque to...........and i do get about 10%doing this but hey, i suppose its all part of the job...i suppose its cool when you do get alot inPosted by Majestic (Majestic), 31 January 2004
Is it the same ones all the time, I tell mine I will clean them twice without payment then they need to find a new window cleanerPosted by STEVE71163 (Steve Lowe), 31 January 2004
Hi VGC
I see you have got a website. I have just put Nochex on my site so customers can pay on line and its working a treat. But even before that i never used to do collecting. I just pushed a card through the door asking them to send me a cheque.
StevePosted by Majestic (Majestic), 31 January 2004
Steve how do they know that you have Nochex
JohnPosted by STEVE71163 (Steve Lowe), 31 January 2004
I have put it on the slip i put through the door.

I do exactly the same as John. Do they have to go and collect their wages from their bosses house if they want to be paid.

Without me looking at old posts how does it work do you have to pay them x amount a month, or x amount per payment
JohnPosted by STEVE71163 (Steve Lowe), 31 January 2004
Hi John
I have not transferred any money yet to my bank account but its: (The withdrawal charge is the higher of 99 pence or 1% of the amount being withdrawn.) taken from their website.
StevePosted by T_W_CONTRACTS (T_W_CONTRACTS), 31 January 2004
i dont have this prob has i do contract work
but why dont you increase the charge by say
10% if they dont pay in 2 weeks and so on cant
they leave it on the top sill
terryPosted by Majestic (Majestic), 31 January 2004
So is it like paying a cheque into your account and you have to wait x days or is it instant like a debit card
JohnPosted by STEVE71163 (Steve Lowe), 31 January 2004
Once they pay and its in your nochex account you can just transfer to your bank account
StevePosted by STEVE71163 (Steve Lowe), 31 January 2004

Steve, are you finding people using the Nochex system, i use it for my online venture, and every1 is happy with it (but as its online based, people use PC's)
been thinking of using it for windows aswell
how many use it ??
cheers
mattPosted by Majestic (Majestic), 31 January 2004
Is that another thread (how many use nochex) or has it been done Posted by STEVE71163 (Steve Lowe), 31 January 2004
Hi Matt
I have only had it on my site for a few days and had four payments so far but i will let you know when i have been using it a bit longer. I think about 80% of my customers have a pc so it should be usefull.
StevePosted by mickeyfat (VGC), 31 January 2004

Hi Steve,
What are the charges for using NOCHEX? Is it more than say, a cheque?Posted by STEVE71163 (Steve Lowe), 1 February 2004
Hi Steve
Its 1% or 99p minimum charge but i prefer that to running around chasing people and using Diesel
Steve LowePosted by STEVE71163 (Steve Lowe), 1 February 2004
Sorry Steve
That is only when you transfer to your bank account. So you just transfer a few at a time and its 1% charges
StevePosted by Majestic (Majestic), 1 February 2004
I am going to try it anything for to make life easy .
How long did it take you to register
JohnPosted by stevekennedy (stevekennedy), 1 February 2004
Just about died when I read your first post 99p per customer!
99p per transfer or 1% is actually quite reasonable. Might try that when I get my website going
SteveKPosted by mickeyfat (VGC), 1 February 2004
just looked the site and it all seems fine...i dont know alot about this sort of thing but is it similer ti paypal because i have heard of that
i think i might to this for my customers:
Due to a MASSIVE increase in workload collections are becoming increaingly difficult. So could you please find it in your hearts to do one of the following:
1/ send a cheque/postal order made out to .... ....
2/Phone me to arrange a pick up piont for your money..ie Plant pot window sill or maybe the local shop
3/send online using paypal/norchex!
4/Place you money straight in our bank accoujt....ac no.09-09-09 098765
|PLease email or phone to tell which method(if any ) you would like to use#
otherwise i will look foward to seeing you on thursay or friday beetween 5 and 8
thanks

Hello Guy's
I've been using PayPal on my collection slips. Works pretty well with the younger customers and proffesionals. I supose the good thing also is that they get a reciept so there is no argy-bargy that they did not pay etc.
Charges: withdrawing for your account is free for withdrwing £50 or more and 25p for £49.99 or less.
Hope this is of some help.
MikeyPosted by STEVE71163 (Steve Lowe), 2 February 2004

StevePosted by Bones (Bones), 2 February 2004

MikeyPosted by mickeyfat (VGC), 2 February 2004
